returned to tokyo in the helloharuo-mobile
in time for a curried lunch.

somewhere near the harbour, we went to the launch of araki's launch, for his show 'love on the left eye'
and i got to meet one of my photography heroes in person.
it was araki's birthday yesterday and he was presented with a big cake, which he shared with everyone at the launch.
araki was almost buzzing with energy which is good for a man recovering from a cancer which has left him blind in one eye.

nanaco sato
had a funny moment in the helloharuo-mobile driving to harujuku to meet mika and do some shopping.
nanaco thought i was getting cross about something and haruo was jokingly trying to diffuse the situation by repeating 'meditate, meditate' to me, following our conversations about being zen and (me) being less aggressive.
all(?) japanese people are SO polite and considerate: they are such charming people.
everyone else in the world must seem SO rude
many of us are.
i have been to tokyo 6 times.
i was amazed when i first came, that people don't throw their cigarette butts on the floor but even more so, they don't even drop their cigarette ASH on the floor: people carry personal. sealable ash trays.
now smoking outside on the street in busy places is banned: there are designated smoking areas
and 'they' have removed ALL the litter bins everywhere, so people take their rubbish home with them and correctly recycle in their appropriate bins.
there is NO litter anywhere.
maybe a tiny bit in places where tourists have been dropping it
