spent some hours at the show where haruo was told off for using a mini tripod outside in the grounds, i was told off for writing notes in a notebook with a ball-point pen (it was replaced with a courtesy pencil, just in case of accidents) and we were all told off repeatedly for standing too close to the pictures.
after the show, drove to the neighbouring town where haruo grew up and had some lunch; stopped at his late granddad's temple and dropped in on his mum to say hello.
which is not the done thing in japan.
