my japanesse sister, nanaco-chan, came to meet us from the 'friendly limousine bus' at shinjuku

hot sun

slept for an hour in our rooms that nanaco has arranged for us to stay in.

these roses are from her neighbour's garden.

had a delicious curry for lunch

jan came to pick us up, to rescue us from the torrential rain.

jan has a faded, 1970's playboy magazine left deliberately on his dashboard.

'my mum got it for me'

nanaco says, 'beautiful, no?'

slept for several more hours

then took the subway to shibuya in search of a mythical bakery i had enjoyed so much on my last visit.

failed to find the bakery.

had a late dinner and caught the last subway back to shinjuku

i am SO happy to be back in japan: i LOVE it here.

i am in tokyo on a very special assignment (for EDICT magazine issue 2) which i can happily combine with seeing two of my best friends in the world.
