one couldn't shoot 'the raconteurs' at this location...something to do the colour of the horizontal stripes.

drugs for sale here
so...this got me in some bother:
i was walking around nashville, near the mercy lounge, looking for some neat loactions for the photography mission in hand: photographing 'the raconteurs'
i was just thinking to myself 'doesn't that mean "drugs for sale here"?' when i spooked the people down the adjacent alley that MAY have been selling drugs here.
surely advertising so unsubtly is also an advert for the cops to raid?
words were shouted (at me) and hostile gestures were made (towards me) so i executed a hasty retreat and made a note to myself that walking down alleys in pursuit of interesting backgrounds would be a stoopid way to die.
DRESS TO IMPRESS
had a short(ish) shoot.
shot on film (6x9) and digital (h2d).
a beautiful sunny day.
i wish i could bring the weather back to blighty with me.
having brought the cold and rain here earlier in the week perhaps i stand a chance.
only the sun won't even be up when we are tomorrow.
we'll be leaving the hotel at 4.30 (AM)
and flying all day back.
