this is me yawning on set.
hasselblad (wrapped in plastic) in hand and broncolour 'move' lights making things bright on a rainy day

our studio today was tight on space: we were shooting outside an oxfam backed 'bio centre' where people have access to clean toilets, showers and drinking water.

it's hard to appreciate the extreme difference that these centres have made to the lives of people here but some of the people still alive tried to explain.

there were so many people dying of waterborne diseases like cholera and typhoid because of dirty water and the unsanitary conditions.

less now, but there are WAY not enough bio centres for the 500,000 people living in mukuru.

oxfam needs to raise more money for more bio centres.

more bio centres means less people die here and less people get ill.

simples.

had to convince our driver to stop for this outside the ministry of state defence.

'it's the rules: you HAVE to take pictures anywhere you see signs like this: it's tradition. what's the worsrt that can happen?'

'the police will put us in prison'

'we'll be quick'

which we were.

i congratulated our driver on being a getaway driver after, as he sped off.
