i'm having some issues with les imbeciles who are responsible for roadsigns in france.

we are travelling without a european sat-nav (for the first and last time).
the perou-mobile and the mini-peroumobile both have them.

mum-mum and dad-dad have kindly lent us vw camper for our camping holiday in france.
unfortunately it does not have a european sat-nav.

we can't even blame the 12yr old map book we're using.
it's the french people, and their love of acid.
roads change number without reason or warning and then go back again.
several (significant) roads have no signs at all.

spent an hour driving in the wrong direction today.
then drove back for an hour to get back to where we started.
adding to hours and 100miles to our journey.

finally found our campsite on the banks of the seine and pitched up.

after mini golf, table tennis and baby foose
in the early evening sun, walked a few miles to the nearest town for galettes and kir royals.

in the later cold and dark found out local taxis don't run on a sunday so we had to walk back.

being 2 adults and 2 constantly fighting children in a small-ish van seemed like such a good idea when i planned this last week.
now i am wondering exactly how much french my ancestors left in me.
