packed children, dog and lover in car (looking forward to the day we can all cycle there) and drove round the corner to the 'bitch'.
cold but sunny.
stayed there till we couldn't feel our fingers and returned to the farm.

spent an hour or two helping james dust (beat/brush) the underside of the thatch some more.
it's an unpleasant, slow, dirty (in the wrong way) job.
where's the eastern european workforce when you need them?
almost makes you wish you lived in 'untied states of america' so you could gainfully employ some mexicans for cheap and cheerful business.
not enough mexicans in this country.
plenty of everyone else though.
with a little bit more encouragement, maximum has mastered the art of cycling...well, almost: he can go forwards...turning, starting and stopping are still a problem.
am now retouching 'him' pictures.
well, i would be if i wasn't typing this.
there's only so much retouching i can do on a sunday afternoon (or any other day) before my eyes start to glaze over.
i've eaten 9 (large) pieces of chocolate brownie today.
