doomsday

doomsday

apologies to the uncredited photographers who took these pictures (which i lifted off the sky news website this morning).

woke early, not to a dull thud (or loud bang) like most of london, wondering how norman kember was doing and finding out about the fuel explosion in hemel hempstead.

photographed 'cillian murphy' at the perou factory.
he was very pleasant...but not quite as tall as i was expecting...and a bit tired post a heavy filming schedule and being a new father and all.
it was a short shoot.

immediately after, packed up and headed south for a big family, christmas get together at my brother's house.
joining the m25 out of london, i looked in my rear view mirror and saw the heavy black cloud turning the sunny day into night.
i couldn't stop because a) i was on a motorway and b) i was late for lunch
but i've never seen such an apocalyptic sight: impending doom encrouching on a bright day.
slamming south really felt like we were escaping the nasty.
i can't imagine the heavy toxic cloud encompassing london can be anything but bad for people's health.

at my brother's house, finally after hours and hours of grief, sorted his malfunctioning adsl router.
he had got a norton firewall running as well as the router firewall and the usual apple firewall.
such over-caution rendering his hardware completely useless.
phew.

saw family we haven't seen in years and met cousin's children and babies we'd never met before.
had a happy day.
and reluctantly drove back the the (literal) smog, getting the kids in from the car quickly and shutting up shop.
