the past has passed

slept through the thunder and lightning storms and woke to sunshine

unexpectedly

we didn't realise but we're totally out of season: thunder and lightning storms are forecast all week: eek

the horrible view from our digs on the beach

between us and the sea there's a strip of sand with cordoned off areas where there are turtles' eggs waiting to hatch

hope they do it tonight on the blood (full) moon

i like to ride my bicycle

this is me and lucy's first break away together, without sons, for over 13 years

it's a little overdue.

the horrible beach

the horrible cycle lane

on one side there's a beach and the other side there's a jungle

that's tulum in a sentence

cycled to the supermarket and was surprised to find three different flavours of strongbow in the chiller

skipped on the 'honey strongbow' but regretting that so will return tomorrow

now i'm sitting on a warm beach, drinking cold strongbow, waiting for the turtles to hatch and make a break for the sea

and things feel good for a change.

in 2014 i spectacularly (and completely inaccurately) predicted 2015 would be a great vintage and it turned out to be one of the worst years ever, for so many people i know. including myself.

maybe things are turning around though?

maybe that's just the red berries strongbow talking...?
