kids go wild (osaka styley)

slept 5-10.30am (what is known as a long sleep here).
wrote a few postcards which felt so old school and pointless i doubt i'll do again (from i country i can email from).
had an 'eat all you can' buffet style lunch at the hotel but didn't really eat too much: think those deals are stacked in a restaurant's favour...except in the states perhaps...or maybe ancient rome.

with autechre, the light surgeons and coldcut, got stuck in traffic on route to the bullet train and missed our departure.
however as these trains run from osaka to tokyo every four minutes (the time/distance it takes to stop a train in case it needs to, to avoid a pile-up) we just caught the next.

discussed with sean from authechre how i would have taken some pictures of them playing last night but as they play in complete darkness and position their monitors in front of them it was kind of impossible.
that's the way they like it: the way they've always done it.
on the warp records site, there's no band info and no pictures of them at all in their gallery.
i shot them a while back: see them here.

feeling like crap again, on arrival back to tokyo, said our goodbyes and checked back into our comfy (budget) hotel/apartments in shibuya.
realised i'd left my laptop cable in osaka so headed straight out shopping for another.
with frances, caught up with crispin and did a bit of half-assed, delerious shopping at tokyo hands and amused ourselves with the saucy outfits you can buy at the 'don quioxte' 24hr convienience store in shibuya.

craving a pint of cider, did the thing i never do and found an 'english pub'.
strongbow, my friend, was waiting there for me.
the 'pub' was called 'the aldgate' and was mercifully empty of english people.
the barmaid looked like she could be english...but she was polish.
i asked her if she'd ever been to england...but she hadn't.
i asked her if the owner of 'the aldgate' was english...she said 'no, this is japan'.
it was amusingly authentic inside didn't feel at all like you were on the fourth floor of a windowless office block.
decided not to go with 'toad in the hole' or 'bangers and mash' and as we were all so tired (and i was starting to halucinate) we did the wrong thing again and caught a convienient 'moss burger'.
